On Monday, June 13, 2016 the St. Joseph City Commission unanimously approved the City of St. Joseph 2016 Master Plan. The final plan represents the culmination of 2½ years of work undertaken by the City under the guidance of LIAA. As noted by the Mayor, this was the most robust public input process the City has ever engaged in and the plan truly reflects the vision and ideas from over 1,200 individuals who engaged in the planning process. Highlights in the new plan include a planned network of non-motorized pathways for recreation and transportation, tools for increasing housing options, a vision for the waterfront, and ideas for implementing design standards in the downtown district and along a key commercial corridor. The full plan is available on the Resilient Michigan website.
